Our Principles
Grace Children's Academy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of exploration, discovery, and collaboration. We encourage students to appreciate “the little things" and see themselves as valuable global citizens.
​We accomplish this by closely observing each child as they enjoy crafts, cultural immersion, music, and play. Such observation allows us to understand “who” each child is and create a curriculum that plays to their individual strengths.

Our History
Our school opened in 1986 to become a “home away from home” for young learners in the Oakland area.
Hundreds of children and 38 years later, GCA continues to stand as a pillar in the community. It warms our hearts to see our school's lasting impact on local youths. Over the years, many of our students have grown to become successful, caring, and compassionate adults.

It takes a village to do this work. Our highly dedicated educators are not simply “teachers”, they take on the role of facilitators that in collaboration with parents, move the child toward independent thinking, measuring his “own” success, valuing herself and seeing the world as extensions of themselves.  

We keep you abreast of your child’s progress through continuous, ongoing observation and documentation.  By embracing each moment as an opportunity to learn and unlearn, we view every single day as an opportunity to unlock your child's potential.
